I’d like to go into detail today on Attraction Switches, and compare Style’s famous list of attraction switches to the european pickup environment. Are the attraction switches the same in Europe as in USA? Let’s have a look.
1. You must show her that you’re safe. Trust is an important issue for most women. This must be demonstrated. So switch #1: in order to proceed, you need SAFETY and TRUST.
Of course. The only european difference with this switch that I would note is the fact that there’s not as many savages in europe as in USA, with regards to men who abuse or attack women. Women want to know that you’re not a creep, it just takes less effort in Europe to convince them.
2. You must show her that you have either ambition, motivation, or job/financial security. In other words, you must have a life and goals.
This is true for European girls over 22 or so. Women today want a man with ambition - that’s a universally attractive trait in a man. So what if you’re American or British….what do you want to do with your life?!
3. You must show her that you’re different than the other guys, that you are not generic or boring, that she can learn something from you or grow with you, that you have a sense of adventure or creativity or spirituality.
I’ll say confidently that being foreign almost automatically flips this attraction switch. One remark in Budapest about your last year’s vacation to Hawaii pretty much seals this one! Don’t waste effort on this one in Europe - this one’s a given.
4. You must be the PRIZE of the room. She wants a guy others will envy her for, that she can brag about to her friends.
That ties in closely to number 3 - you must set yourself apart in a good way. Pretty much a universal attraction switch, again with a big edge to western men right out of the gates.
5. It’s a big world and we all feel alone in it, so if you can demonstrate that you UNDERSTAND her and where she comes from, she will feel chemistry.
This is the tough one, fellas. Creating an early connection and rapport can be very difficult when barely speaking the same language, coming from different worlds, etc. One thing I learned in my first year in Europe…emphasize non-verbal communication. With the right types of eye contact and expressions, you can really effectively gain a deep rapport and trust, even without shared earlier life experiences. We talked a lot about non-verbal communication in our Seduce Europe Bible - and for this switch to be flipped it’s a necessity to operate in the non-verbal frequencies.
6. You need an aura of depth and mystery. You must maybe show a vulnerable or wounded side of yourself, you must not give away everything for free.
This is a big one where a lot of guys go wrong. Look, if you’re on a week long holiday through Poland or France or Spain and wanting to pickup girls, don’t lay all your cards on the table in the first five minutes. When asked where you’re from keep them wondering! Like style says - don’t give away everything for free…don’t just read off your business card when first meeting someone. That’s not seduction.
7. You must show her that you are NOT horny, but sexual. This is where social proof comes in too, also demonstrating an understanding of her world (liking her for who SHE is).
This is an important one, probably too deep to be thrown into a list of attraction switches. Fact is, the whole qualifying thing is a process that lasts for most of the seduction - it should be internal, not some checklist of switches to flip. Anyway, of course looking sexual but not desperate is a globally attractive trait in a PUA.
The switches for attraction as written by Style have a universal appeal for the most part. I will say that as a foreign man traveling around Europe (or living & working here), you’ve already got a couple switches flipped for you. Don’t overqualify by still trying to activate these! You’re already exotic. You’re already different. Now just establish rapport / trust, and reap the delicious rewards of your labors.
